As a business, Royal Mail provides an essential public service relied upon by communities and businesses all over the country.
We have a statutory duty to provide a letter delivery service at a uniform price, irrespective of distances travelled, to each and every one of the 27 million addresses in the UK.
The duty also includes an obligation to carry out at least one collection daily from each of our postboxes.
