Pay with stamps

One way to pay for First Class delivery is with stamps. Buy First Class stamps in book format from the Post Office™ or in sheets of 100 or rolls of up to 10,000 from our online shop

If your item is 100g or less and under 5mm thick, just stick a stamp on it and post it in any Postbox®, providing you do not need a certificate of posting.

Print postage from your PC

Compensation

For stamped or franked items posted with Royal Mail which have no intrinsic value, or where a customer cannot provide evidence of posting, there will be compensation for loss, damage and delay of a minimum of 6 x 1st class stamps at the first weight step. In the event of a compensation claim for loss we will refund the postage paid or 6 x 1st class stamps at the first weight step, whichever is greater.

For lost or damaged stamped or franked items that have an intrinsic value, with evidence of posting with Royal Mail (such as a certificate of posting) and evidence of value (such as an invoice or receipt) customers will be entitled to a postage refund plus compensation for actual loss up to the value of the item, or £46, whichever is the lowes.

Compensation up to £2,500 is also available if you use the Special Delivery™ Next Day service.

Weight limit

You can send items of any weight using First Class mail. However, for heavier items, we recommend using our Standard Parcels service or, if the item is valuable, Special Delivery™ Next Day
